Md. Moddeksur Rahman Rocky,Jessore: The Jessore District Administration has arrested a fraudster named Md. Abdus Salam while he was enjoying government benefits in the name of Additional Secretary at Jessore Circuit House and handed him over to the police. He was arrested on Wednesday afternoon and handed over to the Jessore Kotwali Police Station.
It is learnt that the arrested Abdus Salam (67) is the son of the deceased Elahi Box Gazi of Helanchi village of Khedapara union of Monirampur upazila. He used to go to the circuit house thrice in the last three months and introduce himself sometimes as the deputy commissioner of Rangpur and sometimes as the additional secretary of various ministries. When he came to the circuit house, he used to avail all the government facilities. It is learnt that he used to work in a private firm earlier.
Jessore District Council Chief Executive SM Shaheen, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education) Masum Billah, Acting Zonal Settlement Officer Md. Zakir Hossain and NDC Rezwan Sardar were present at the spot when the fraudster Abdus Salam was arrested. They questioned the fraudster and confirmed his identity after finding his behavior and identity suspicious. Later, he was handed over to the Kotwali Police Station.
