A child named Jisan (7) was found bundled up in the yard of his house after going missing for three days.
Police and joint forces have recovered a body buried in the ground. The body was recovered from the area adjacent to Dewara Kheaghat in Dighlia upazila of Khulna at 4:30 pm on Saturday. In this incident, a person named Faisal has been arrested by Dighlia police station from Khalishpur in the city.
Child Jisan’s father, Md. Alamgir Hossain, works as a mechanic at the Jute Textile Mill (Mondal Mill) located in Dewara.
Police said that child Jisan went missing since the afternoon of October 9. He was not found after that. Jisan’s father Alamgir Hossain filed a general diary with the police station on the same day. While investigating the diary, he was last seen with Faisal, son of Hannan Sheikh of the neighboring Dewara village, in CCTV footage. According to him, Faisal was arrested and interrogated, and after he confessed to the murder.
Dighlia Police Station Officer-in-Charge HM Shahin confirmed the recovery of child Jisan’s body and said that in the CCTV footage, child Jisan was seen roaming around the gate of the house with the arrested Faisal. Based on which, Faisal was arrested and interrogated, and when he was arrested, he confessed to killing child Jisan and burying the body in the yard of his house. Accordingly, the body has been recovered. However, the reason for the murder is not known. Faisal is being interrogated.
