725 houses will be handed over to homeless families in Cox’s Bazar district tomorrow

Honorable Prime Minister’s announcement “Not a single person of Bangladesh will be homeless in the year of Mujib” in the light of the said announcement, the process of making Cox’s Bazar district landless and homeless is ongoing. The total number of houses that can be inaugurated and handed over in the second phase of the fourth phase tomorrow, August 9, Wednesday, is 725. Earlier, 2886 houses have been constructed and handed over in the first, second, third phase of the 4855 landless and homeless families in the eight upazilas of Cox’s Bazar district. Out of the 1610 houses allotted in the fourth phase, 860 houses have been handed over to the beneficiaries by the Hon’ble Prime Minister on 22/03/2023 English. In other words, a total of 3746 houses have been inaugurated in Cox’s Bazar district so far. On the occasion of the auspicious inauguration of the second phase of land and housing program among the landless and homeless by the Honorable Prime Minister under the shelter-2 project yesterday, Monday, August 7, at five o’clock in the afternoon, ATM Zafar Alam CSP of the District Commissioner’s office. A press briefing held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Shaheen Imran in the conference room informed these important issues. He also said that out of 725 houses, 155 in Cox’s Bazar Sadar, 30 in Pekua, 190 in Ramu, 90 in Maheshkhali, 155 in Ukhia, 64 in Teknaf, 41 in Kutubdia, houses will be allocated among the landless homeless. By doing this, there will be no more landless-homeless people in Pekua, Ukhia and Teknaf upazilas. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Zahid Iqbal, ADC General Vibhishan Kanti Das, among others, were present at the said press briefing. Besides, journalists from electronic and print media were present.
