Journalists working in different media have been attacked in Kakrail of the capital while performing their professional duties. They were seriously injured in police tear gas and brick pelting by the angry crowd.
They were injured while gathering news about BNP’s general meeting in Kakrail on Saturday afternoon.
Multimedia journalist Maruf Hasan was injured in the Kakrail attack. After the attack, he was rescued and taken to Dhaka Reporters Unity. He was given first aid there. He works for an online website called Political News BD.
Apart from this, Zafar Ahmed, Senior Correspondent of BanglaNews, Rafsan Jani of Daily Kalbela and a journalist of Daily Ittefaq were also injured while gathering news. Also, another journalist named Raju Ahmed was reported injured.
At the same time, one of the television’s vehicles was also vandalized.
Meanwhile, senior journalists strongly condemned the attack on media workers while performing their professional duties.
