A raid team of the Directorate of Narcotics Control (DNC) has arrested two persons with 440 bottles of Phencidil in Faridpur. They were arrested in front of the BRTC counter in Gohailbari market of Boalmari upazila of Faridpur district on Sunday (March 17). The arrested are – Md. of Boalmari Khamarpara. Nazmul Sheikh (24) and Ratandiyar Md. Shaukat Ali (29).

According to DNC sources, two of them were arrested while taking Phencidil by bus from the BRTC bus counter in Gohailbari Bazar, Boalmari, on tip-off. After that, a big travel bag and 440 bottles of Phencidil were recovered from them. Shamim Hossain, deputy director of the Faridpur district office of the Narcotics Control Department, confirmed the truth of the incident and said that during the initial interrogation of the accused, they admitted that these phensidyls belonged to them. In the initial interrogation, they said that these phencidils are supplied to the drug dealers in the Jatrabari area of Dhaka, the heart of the country. We will take further investigative action against those involved.

He said that the process of taking necessary legal action against the arrested accused is going on. Such operation will be continued in future by Directorate of Narcotics Control, District Office, Faridpur.
