Police arrested 04 members including Ariful Islam (Bhata), a member of the district’s top thief gang, in two separate theft cases at Nachol police station in Chapainawabganj. On Saturday (August 12), Nachol police station officer in-charge (OC) Mintu Rahman confirmed the matter. He said that on the direction of District Superintendent of Police Chaidul Hasan (PPM Service) in the last (24 hours) raids were conducted in Sadar, Shibganj, Gomstapur and Mahanagar Motihar Thana area of Rajshahi district and 04 accused were arrested. According to the information given by the arrested persons, 05 tons of 5 annas gold, stolen gold was recovered from their custody. Also, 43,000 taka in cash for sale of gold and 02 motorcycles used in theft, 03 phones and a tip knife were recovered.
Arrested are Ariful Islam (Bhata) (31) son of Dulal of PTI slum area of Chapainawabganj town, Mr. Suman Sarkar son of Shibatala Malopara Sri Samb Sarkar (38), Mobarak Hossain (34) son of elder Indrira Abul Kalam Azad, Meraj Ali of Lailapara Velur mor. Shahjahan’s son (27) was arrested.
Mintu Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Nachol police station of Chapainawabganj district, asked about this, and he said that the police conducted raids and arrested them in two separate cases of theft in the area of Nachol police station. He also said that the accused have been sent to the learned court.
