A woman named Sumi Akhtar (27) committed suicide by hanging her husband on a video call in Kalatali area of Cox’s Bazar city. This incident happened at 10 am yesterday Saturday (February 25). Sumi Akhter is the daughter of Kabir of Kalatali area. According to the sources, Jahangir (30) of Comilla had a love relationship with Sumi Akhter, daughter of Kabir of East Kalatali area of Ward No. 12 of Cox’s Bazar Municipality. They got married about 3 years ago. After marriage, they both lived in Kalatali Jhirijhiri Para area of Cox’s Bazar. Jahangir used to stay outside Cox’s Bazar city for business. For a long time there was a dispute between husband and wife for various reasons. As a result of this, Sumi committed suicide by video calling her husband at 10 am on Saturday morning by wrapping her veil around her neck with a balcony fan. Later, when her husband Jahangir told her mother-in-law about the matter on the phone, the family members broke the door and recovered Sumi’s hanging body. Ward Council No. 12 of Cox’s Bazar Municipality MA Manjur said, A woman named Sumi Akhter committed suicide due to a family dispute with her husband on IMO video call.
