Staff Reporter: National Citizen Party (NCP) Northern Region Chief Coordinator Sarjis Alam said, some election-time reforms are needed. Of the judiciary, law enforcement agencies and the Election Commission. If these are completed, we have no disagreement about the elections in April. But before that, the election-time reforms must be ensured. A visible judicial process must be ensured. We want to see the visible status of basic reforms. Sarjis Alam said these things in front of newsmen at Chowrangi intersection in Panchagarh district town on Monday (June 9) afternoon.

He said, we have seen that power is misused in elections, black money, muscle power are misused. We want to see a level playing field in this election in post-revolutionary Bangladesh. No one should be a victim of power misuse here by anyone.

Local leaders and activists of NCP including Tanvirul Bari Nayan, Panchagarh Sadar Upazila Coordinator of the National Citizen Party, were present at the time. Earlier, he exchanged post-Eid greetings with leaders and activists, including Hasnat Abdullah, at a sidewalk shop and had tea with them.

Regarding former President Abdul Hamid’s return to the country, Sarjis Alam said, “We want strict intervention in the overall affairs of the fascist Awami League, Hasina and those who have been their allies for so long, who have helped them become fascists, and this should be done through legal process.”
