Desk news : US Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent T. Christensen paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister’s Defense Advisor Brigadier General (Retd) Dr. AKM Shamsul Islam.
The meeting of the three-member delegation was held today (Tuesday) at the Office of the Defense Advisor, Armed Forces Division, Dhaka Cantonment.
This was announced in a press release of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) today.
The meeting discussed the existing excellent bilateral relations between Bangladesh and the United States and various issues of mutual interest.
They discussed in detail the issues of increasing mutual cooperation, exchange of experience and expansion of training activities, especially at the military level between the two countries.
The Defense Advisor recalled the long-standing friendly relations between Bangladesh and the United States. At the same time, he also expressed hope that this cooperation in the defense sector will be further accelerated in the coming days.
At the same time, the US Ambassador highly appreciated the professionalism of the Bangladesh Armed Forces and their contribution to peacekeeping missions.
This courtesy visit is expected to further strengthen and expand the defense cooperation between Bangladesh and the United States and the friendly relations between the two countries in the future.
