Training Workshop on Combating Yellow Journalism and Promoting Objective News Reporting Organized by Bangladesh Editors Forum in Association with the Press Council

Today, Monday, June 16, 2025, a training workshop on “Combating Yellow Journalism and Promoting Objective News Reporting” was organized by the Bangladesh Editors Forum in collaboration with the Press Council. The event began at 10:00 AM with a recitation from the Holy Quran.

The welcome speech was delivered by the Secretary General of the Bangladesh Editors Forum and Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Present Times, Mr. Md. Omar Faruk Jalal.

The chief guest of the event was the Chairman of the Press Council, Mr. A. K. M. Abdul Hakim. Among other distinguished guests was Mr. Shamsul Haque Zahid, Editor of The Daily Financial Express.

Md. Rafiqul Islam Kajol played a leading role in the success of this workshop. The overall support was provided by the officials and staff of the Press Council.

The workshop concluded with the closing remarks of the chief guest. In his final address, the Secretary General of the Bangladesh Editors Forum emphasized that one of the key ways to combat yellow journalism is to thoroughly verify and evaluate every journalist before appointment.
