Training workshop held for journalists in Satkhira

A training workshop titled “Preventing Media Misreporting and Providing Objective News” was held with the participation of journalists from print and electronic media in Satkhira district.
‎On Thursday morning, May 22, at the Satkhira Circuit House Conference Room
Bangladesh Press Council Chairman Justice AKM Abdul Hakim spoke as the chief guest and resource person at the training workshop organized by the Bangladesh Press Council and in collaboration with the Satkhira District Administration.
He said in his speech that journalists should avoid misinformation in accordance with the law on the protection of journalists and, first of all, play a courageous role in objective journalism for the welfare of the country and patriotism.
The Bangladesh Press Council is working with the firm determination to build a new Bangladesh unitedly without leaving divisions among journalists.
It also has a positive role in the salaries and allowances of journalists.
Satkhira Deputy Commissioner Mostaq Ahmed presided over the workshop, and District Information Officer Jaharul Islam Tutul delivered the welcome speech. Bangladesh Press Council Secretary (Deputy Secretary) Md. Abdus Sabur, as a resource person, discussed the importance of adhering to the code of conduct formulated by the Press Council in disseminating objective news.
Additional Superintendent of Police Mukit Hasan Khan, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Binchupada Pal were present as special guests at the workshop, among others. At the end of the workshop, certificates were distributed among the trained journalists of the district.
