A news item was published in the Daily Present Times under the headline: Residents escape deadly gas fire in Kasame. Bakhrabad Gas Distribution Company disconnected the connection on Wednesday following the publication of the news. Currently, all types of gas connections are closed, but last few months ago, gas connection was given to the newly constructed 6-storey building of Mustafa Anwar behind Laksam Daulatganj Government Primary School while the work was in progress. On the evening of April 22, the residents were alarmed by the loud noise of gas leakage from the newly connected regulator. Fear of fire was reported to Bakhrabad Gas Office and Laksam Fire Service and Civil Defense Office. Later, with the help of Atul Nag, in-charge of Bakhrabad Gas Distribution Laxam, the gas line was stopped and the regulator was removed. After removing the regulator, the owner of the house, Mustafa Anwar, did not contact the Bakhrabad gas office and did not show any valid documents. Laxam office officials and riser team from Comilla participated in the illegal disconnection operation.
