Desk Report: On 18/10/2024, at approximately 18:00 in the evening, the victim Alam Sardar (36), a private car driver, left for Dhaka from Bhedarganj in Shariatpur district with 02 passengers. When he reached Jhilmil Hospital on Kadtali Connection Road from Tegharia under South Keraniganj police station in Dhaka district, at approximately 21.00 in the night, 4/5 unidentified persons, who were giving him a motorcycle seat, randomly beat the victim and hit him on the head with an iron pipe, causing serious bloody injuries. On the victim’s screams, the people around came and admitted him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. In the said incident, the victim’s elder brother Alek Sardar (39) filed a complaint against unknown accused and a case was registered under Section 143/341/323/325/307/34 of the Penal Code, 1860, of the South Keraniganj Police Station of Dhaka district on the basis of a complaint filed by the victim’s elder brother Alek Sardar (39) against unknown accused. Later, when the victim Alam died during treatment, a case was registered under Section 302 of the Penal Code, 1860. The investigating officer of the said case sent a writ petition to the Commander, RAB-10, Dhaka, to bring the accused involved in the murder under the law. Based on the writ petition, an operational team of RAB-10 increased intelligence surveillance to arrest the accused.
In continuation of this, on 03/06/2025 at approximately 21.30 hrs, the said RAB-10 operation team conducted a raid in Azimpur area under Lalbagh police station of the capital on the basis of secret information and with the help of information technology and arrested the accused Md. Titu (54), father- deceased Majid Mia, Sang- Mandail, Police Station- Keraniganj Model, District- Dhaka, found in the investigation of the mentioned murder case.
The arrested accused has been handed over to the concerned police station.
