 A fish trader named Ali Akbar Bappi (33) was hacked to death by unknown miscreants by calling him on his mobile phone in Tangail. The murder incident took place in front of the main gate of Par Dighulia Shaheed Mizanur Rahman High School in the municipal area on Tuesday (23 May). The deceased Bappi is the son of deceased Delbar Bepari of Char Dighulia area of Ward No. 4 of Tangail Municipal Council. Officer-in-charge (OC) of Tangail Sadar Model Police Station Mohammad Abu Chalam Miah confirmed the matter. According to the source of the deceased’s family, on Tuesday (May 23) at around 12 midnight, after receiving a call from an elder brother on his mobile phone, Bappi left the house saying that he was going to a local grocery store. Later on getting information from the locals, Bappi’s wife Akhi Akhtar found Bappi’s bloody and bruised body in front of the main gate of Shaheed Mizanur Rahman High School. Locals informed the police and recovered the body. Tangail Sadar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Abu Chalam Miah said that businessman Bappi was hacked to death by unidentified miscreants and left in front of the main gate of Par Dighulia Shaheed Mizanur Rahman High School on Tuesday night. On receiving information from the locals, Sub-Inspector of Model Police Station Sultan Uddin Khan recovered the body from the spot and brought it to the police station. Later, the body was sent to Tangail General Hospital morgue for post-mortem. He also said that there were numerous cut marks on the body including the head. No case has been filed with the police yet. After the autopsy, the body will be handed over to the family members. The police are making vigorous efforts to arrest the accused. It should be noted that Bappi used to trade fish in Tangail Park market. He is married and has three children. Bappi was the sole earner in the family. Bappi became the father of a baby girl just three months ago. Bappi’s family has become helpless after losing the only earner in the family.
