Mobile phone network operator Grameenphone has experienced a network disaster. Grameenphone customers in different parts of the country, including the capital, are not getting the network since 12 noon on Thursday. According to Grameenphone sources, Grameenphone’s fiber optics cables were severed by bulldozers during road development work at two places in Sirajganj and one place in Tangail. This problem has arisen. Grameenphone Head of Communications Khairul Bashar said, “We are sincerely sorry that the fiber optics is only disconnected and it is difficult to make calls temporarily. Our team is working with utmost importance to solve the problem quickly. In response to the question of how long this problem will be solved, Khairul Bashar said that the party is giving utmost importance to the issue. However, it is not possible to say for sure how much time it will take. Meanwhile, Grameen Phone also informed about the network disaster on their verified Facebook page. It said, ‘We sincerely apologize for the temporary difficulty in making calls due to the fiber optic cable being cut. Our team is working with utmost importance to solve the problem quickly.
