The President said, I hope that everyone will come forward regardless of party affiliation to stand beside the helpless and distressed people with the great vow of philanthropy.

The head of state said that 11 districts of the south-eastern region of Bangladesh have been greatly affected by the severe floods. People in flood affected areas are living inhumane life. These helpless people need multi-faceted support including food, water and medicine to survive in addition to safe shelter.

The government is making all-out efforts to help the flood-affected people. Besides, he mentioned that the anti-discrimination students are also providing their support.

On the occasion of Janmashtami, one of the main religious festivals of the Hindu community, President Sahabuddin wished and congratulated all the Hindus of the country and urged everyone to work together to move the country forward, irrespective of religion, caste and party.

President Sahabuddin referred to Shri Krishna as a benevolent and humanitarian man and social reformer of Hinduism.

He said that the main philosophy of Shri Krishna was to remove the injustice, oppression and violence from the society and build the bond of genuine love and harmony between people.

The President said that Bangladesh is a country of communal harmony. Communal harmony is a unique feature of our culture. In order to accelerate national progress and prosperity, the existing harmony and mutual amity in the society must be maintained.

Stating that the constitution of Bangladesh has guaranteed equal rights to all citizens, the head of state said that if we all want to move Bangladesh forward, we must forget the differences of caste and religion and work together.

He said that the main message of all religions is human welfare and religious values ​​should be used for the welfare of the country and people.

Md. Sahabuddin said, the promise of Janmashtami this year is to build a progressive and peaceful social system for the new generation in the bond of mutual sympathy, harmony and human values.

He requested everyone to maintain religious harmony in the society and behave in a tolerant and tolerant manner in order to highlight harmony and cultural heritage in the international arena.

After the greeting message, the President exchanged greetings with all the guests in the Durbar Hall.
