 Vijaynagar in upazila of Brahmanbaria district, a son was killed by a father due to a family dispute.
The deceased’s name is Enayetullah (20). He is the son of Joynal Mia of Maheshpur village of Bishnupur union of the upazila. Accused Zainal Mia is working as office bearer of Maheshpur High School.
According to police and family sources, the deceased Enayetullah returned from Saudi Arabia a few days ago. Disappointment after returning from abroad is one of the reasons for increasing family disputes.
Later on Sunday evening, September 1, the victim’s father, Zainal Miah, with the help of other family members, hit Enayetullah with a rod and a strong stick, injuring him severely. Locals rescued him with serious injuries and took him to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital and sent him to Dhaka Medical for advanced treatment. He died at Narsingdi on the way to Dhaka at 12 o’clock that night.
Officer-in-charge of Vijaynagar police station Md. Shahidul Islam said that initially we got the news that the father and brother were killed due to a family dispute. Zainal Mia, father of the deceased, has been arrested. Further necessary legal action will be taken.
