Sylhet Correspondent: Sylhet Divisional Commissioner Khan Md. Reza-un-Nabi said, “Family, society and the state must think about the development of the disabled. Self-sufficient people never understand the pain of imperfect people. If people from all walks of life can come forward to put a smile on the faces of the disabled, we will be able to build a beautiful Bangladesh without discrimination.”
He said, “If there is any legal complication regarding the land of this institution, I will try to resolve it. So that this institution can function. The institution has come under the evil eye of land grabbers belonging to social services. They are trying to grab it in various ways. All legal measures will be taken to protect the institution.”
He said, “Not pitying people with disabilities, everyone should come forward to create their rights.”
He further said, “The institution was established in 1997. It is a shame for all of us that the institution is not in good condition till date. I will try my best from my position to see if the DGF Foundation office can be renovated or a building constructed.”
If anyone raises their voice regarding the land of this organization, that will also be dealt with legally.
A significant segment of the world’s population, the disabled, can only be brought to the forefront if the social system is changed. If those whom the Creator created as complete human beings do not think about the imperfect human beings, then injustice is being done to them.
We want individuals, families, society, and the state to think about people with disabilities.
Expressing concern about the difficult management in this institution for the disabled, he said, “We also undertake projects worth hundreds of crores of taka every day where subsidies have to be given. But our mindset is not for good work. We need to change our mindset. Those who lead in society have a lot of responsibilities.”
Stating that the people of Bangladesh cannot laugh today, he said, “There is nothing to despair, Bangladesh will not be given permanent settlement by anyone. Work is underway to establish a social system free from all forms of corruption, mismanagement and to reform and repair the state.”
