Players do not belong to any team. People of the whole country like them. But Shakib Al Hasan, Mashrafe bin Mortuzara have lost their universal acceptance by playing politics under the banner of a party.
One party may have advocated for them, but supporters of another party were always against. As a result, their supporters are also divided into two.
There has been a big change in the scenario. After the fall of the Awami League government, their leaders and activists are in dire straits. Shakib and Mashrafe are also in trouble.
Mashrafe’s house was set on fire by a group of protesters. There is great uncertainty about whether Shakib will return to the country or not due to security issues. What would happen if they kept themselves out of politics?
Tigers chief selector Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu thinks that no player should do politics while being in the national team.
Lipu said, “The reforms that have been touched will go forward. No one can do politics while being in the national team, maybe a decision will be made about it. Should any political party also take a running player in their team?
Shakib is arguably the best all-rounder in the world. He is still needed in the national team. Shakib, who has been suffering from eye problems since last year, has seen some problems in his batting.
Still, the chief selector is confident in Shakib’s all-round ability, “I have not heard anything (eye problems) from our medical team.” As recognized by the world, he is one of the best all-rounders in the last 25 years. I’m going with that opinion. I will catch only as a bowler, I don’t have that courage.’
The chief selector said that Shakib will play not only the Pakistan series, but all the 8 Tests of the Bangladesh team this year. He said, ‘We wanted to know the short plan from him during the Zimbabwe series. We have a lot of Test matches, we will play eight Tests till December. There he assured us that he will play all the Tests. All practice sessions will be held before each series.
