A seminar was held in Rajbari district to inform journalists working in print and electronic media about universal pension scheme.
The seminar was held at Rajbari District Commissioner’s conference room at 10 am on 29th June (Saturday).
District Administration Office Senior Assistant Commissioner Md. Kamrul Hasan Maruf presented the basic background about universal pension scheme under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Abu Qaiser Khan and Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Siddharth Bhowmik. He highlighted the benefits of universal pension scheme.
From the age of 18, both men and women can apply for universal pension scheme. The public pension scheme is divided into 5 categories: Progressive, Safe, Equity, Expatriate and Trustee.
Officials of public and private organizations, low-income people and expatriates can take the universal pension scheme. By joining these schemes, private sector employees or expatriates will get a minimum of 2.30 times to a maximum of 12.31 times their total contribution as pension. The government has launched the Universal Pension Scheme to establish a sustainable social security system for senior citizens.
Rajbari Press Club President Ed. Khan Md. Zahurul Haque, General Secretary Khondkar A. Matin, Bangladesh Mufswal Journalist Forum (BMSF) Rajbari Branch President Kabir Hossain spoke in the seminar to inform about the Universal Pension Scheme. Journalists from local print and electronic media attended the seminar to inform about the Universal Pension Scheme.
Rajbari District Commissioner Abu Qaiser Khan said that Sheikh Hasina, the daughter of the father of the nation, wants to take the country forward with all the people of the country. The main objective of the Prime Minister is that none of our people should be left behind. That’s why he launched the pension scheme. When a man is 60 years old, he can’t walk, loses performance. Then he should not have to wait for others. The government has launched a universal pension scheme to establish a sustainable social security system for senior citizens. Let us join the public pension scheme ourselves and encourage others to join.
