Heavy rains have caused flooding in Saudi Arabia. Roads are submerged in it. The published pictures showed that many cars were submerged in water on the road.

Saudi’s National Security Operations Center has issued a warning of heavy rain in the Makkah region. Earlier, the country’s meteorological department issued a red alert. It mentioned heavy rain in Taif, Ardiat, Adham, Bani Yazid and Maysan areas.

Meteorologists have warned of moderate to heavy thunderstorms, which may affect Najran, Jizan, Asir, Al Baha and Makkah regions.

This situation is mainly due to the influx of tropical moisture into the airspace of Saudi Arabia and the shift of the tropical belt to the south of the Arabian Peninsula.

Experts at the Arab Meteorological Center have forecast fresh clouds over Jizan, Asir, Al Baha, Makkah and Madinah. Besides, severe thunderstorms were reported in Jazan and Asir. In such a situation, floods can occur in valleys and dykes.
