A road has been constructed in Barbakpur Aminbari area of Rajapur of Jhalkathi to alleviate public suffering. On Tuesday (November 21) morning, around half a hundred people of the area gathered and started the road construction work. Locals complained that Maulana Abdul Kabir, the director of Barbakpur Darus Sunnat Deeniya Orphanage and Hafizia Madrasa, occupied the place for 22 years and blocked the walking path of the locals. In this, the people of the area had to suffer by walking, bringing and carrying various items including tractors used for agriculture, sick patients.
Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police (Rajapur Kathalia Circle) Md. Masud Rana visited the site when the previous occupant Maulana Abdul Kabir police administration appeared to block the road construction work with sand.
Several people including local Al-Amin Faraji, Saiful Faraji, Quddus Hung, Helal Uddin Hung said that a few days ago, local UP members, dignitaries including chairman and Rajapur Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) filed a written complaint and verified the truth. On July 25, the then Aceland Farzana Bobby Mitu gave a notice to Maulana Abdul Kabir to demolish the wall within a week and came to the land with a surveyor and measured the land. But when Maulana Abdul Kabir ignored the notice and filed a case claiming his property in the court, the court issued an eviction ban. When the locals presented the eviction notice given by the land office to the court, the court lifted the ban in favor of Abdul Kabir. Because in Kabir’s case, mark no-826 and in the prohibition notice given by the land office, mark no-831. Still Abdul Kabir kept the road property in his possession. Then the local UP member measured the Jami and installed the boundary pillars. After understanding the measurements of the property, we started the construction of the road at Shechashram.
If you want to know Maulana Abdul Kabir, this property is ours. A mahal has installed pillars on our property using their muscle power. A case is currently ongoing regarding the land of plot No. 826. However, the property of the road is plot no. 831. Abdul Kabir said that some properties of plot No. 831 have been recorded by mistake.
In this regard, local resident Moniruzzaman Madhu said, we respect the law. We will start road construction again from where the learned court, upazila assistant commissioner (land) and surveyor will determine the boundaries.
In this regard, Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police (Rajapur Circle) Masud Rana said that the case regarding this land is ongoing in the court. Both sides have been asked to remain in a state of calm till the demarcation order is received by the Government Surveyor.
