Since its inception, RAB has been playing a leading role in arresting all types of criminals and bringing them under the law to maintain the overall law and order situation of the country. Apart from this, prevention of fraud and fraud is an important and ongoing operation of RAB. This operation of RAB has been appreciated in all quarters of the country. In continuation of this, today 26th February 2023 A.D. RAB Executive Magistrate Mr. Md. Mazharul Islam and RAB-10 constituted a raiding team conducted mobile court proceedings against passport office brokers in Dhaka’s Dakshin Keraniganj Regional Passport Office Jatrabari, Dakshin Keraniganj, Dhaka office area. Meanwhile, the mobile court arrested 15 members of the broker gang for the crime of harassing and cheating common people who came to the regional passport office of South Keraniganj. Of which Obaiduil (38), Palash (40), Ibrahim (32), Md. Ripon (24), Roshan (48), Dildar (58), Shri Gavind (35), Md. Habibur (33), Liton (38) and 10 persons named Zahidul (34) were sentenced to 15 days imprisonment and 04 persons named Md. Nasir (54), Monir (28), Faisal (38) and Hasmat (40) were sentenced to 30 days without labor and one person named Zakaria was given 200/- rupees. Collected fines. The convicted accused have been sent to Dhaka Central Jail, Keraniganj by order of the learned Magistrate. Preliminary investigation revealed that since quite some time these dishonest brokers have been harassing the common people coming to the regional passport office of South Keraniganj and extorting money from them through various types of fraud.
