RAB-10 has arrested Shafiqul, a fugitive who was sentenced to life in a child rape case, from Fatulla area of Narayanganj. Since its inception, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has been playing a leading role in bringing all types of criminals under the law to maintain the good law and order situation in the country. RAB has been carrying out regular operations to arrest militants, terrorists, organized criminals, robbers, drug dealers and fugitives convicted in various cases including murder, kidnapping and rape. RAB has already been able to gain the public’s trust in crime control with the continuation of intelligence surveillance and raiding activities. In continuation of this yesterday on 04 September 2023 AD at approximately 18:30 hours, an expeditionary team of RAB-10 conducted an operation in Fatulla area of Narayanganj district based on secret information. In the case of child rape in the said operation, the fugitive accused Shafiqul Islam Bepari, father-deceased Hanif Bepari, Sang-Uttar Daulatdia, sentenced to life imprisonment and 20,000/- (twenty thousand) rupees fine in default of payment of 01 (one) year imprisonment. Thana-Goalandghat, District-Rajbari’ was arrested. During the preliminary interrogation, the arrested accused admitted that he was sentenced to life imprisonment in the said case. It is known that he was hiding in different areas of the country including Narayanganj since the case was filed. The arrested accused has been handed over to the concerned police station.
