Since its inception, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has been playing a leading role in bringing all types of criminals under the law to maintain the overall law and order situation in the country. RAB has been conducting regular operations to arrest accused in various sensational cases including militants, armed terrorists, organized criminals, robbers, drug dealers, murder and kidnapping.
In continuation of this, on the night of 15th May 2023 AD, an raid team of RAB-10 conducted an operation in the BGB market area of Dakshin Jatrabari under Jatrabari police station of the capital Dhaka on the night of 15th May 2023. Liton (39), Father- Deceased Badruzzaman Badal, Mother- Nasima Begum, Permanent Sang- Chandanpur, Police Station- Meghna, District Comilla, Present Address- (60/9/L), North Jatrabari, Police Station- Jatrabari, Dhaka’. is done During this time, 01 foreign pistol, 01 magazine, 03 rounds of ammunition (s), 348 (three hundred and forty eight) pieces of Yaba tablets, 01 mobile phone and cash of drug sale – 51,050/- (fifty one thousand fifty) were recovered from him.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested shooter Liton has been conducting various terrorist activities including drug trade, extortion, illegal land grabbing, rape and murder in various areas of Dhaka city including Jatrabari, Shyampur, Mugda, Paltan, Motijheel, Kadmatoli and Keraniganj. If anyone obstructed his work, Shooter Lytton was known to beat the obstructionists and display various forms of intimidation and death threats.
In the interrogation, it is also known that he was collecting various types of narcotics including Yaba from different border areas of the country and supplying them to the surrounding areas including the capital Dhaka. Lytton ran the drug trade in the area at gunpoint, fearing no one would dare speak out against him. Liton, who was arrested, also said that he used to target various elites and businessmen and demand large sums of money by threatening them with weapons and threatening to kill them. Lyton is said to have subjected them to various forms of physical abuse, including beatings and killing them if necessary, when they refused to pay the demanded contribution.
In addition, Lytton did not hesitate to kill anyone in exchange for a large amount of money, including contract killing. Because of which he is known as Shooter Lytton. Also, it is known that there are 01 murder cases, 02 weapons cases, 03 drug cases and 07 cases including robbery preparation cases against Liton in Jatrabari, Mugda and Paltan police stations of the capital. 7. Legal action is pending against the arrested Liton.
