RAB-10 arrested 16 transport extortionists from capital

Since its inception, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has been playing a leading role in bringing all types of criminals under the law to maintain the overall law and order situation of the country. RAB is regularly carrying out operations against the arrest of various types of extortionists and robbers, including militants, terrorists, organized criminals, armed criminals.In continuation of this , on February 20, 2023, a raiding team of RAB-10 conducted an operation in Jatrabari, Demra and Kadmatoli areas of the capital Dhaka and arrested 10 extortionists while illegally collecting extortion from various vehicles including trucks, lorries, covered vans and CNG. Name of arrested persons 1. Md Jasim (41), 2. Md. Sohail (27), 3. Md. Mokhtar Hossain (31), 4. Julhas Mia (43), 5. Muhammad Ali (21), 6. Mahmudul Rahman Midul (19), 7. Md Rakib (22), 8. Md. Manik (30), 9. Md Mithu (24) and 10. Md Rubel (22) is said to be. During this time, 04 wooden sticks, 11 mobile phones and collected subscription cash – 6,270/- (six thousand two hundred and seventy) were recovered from them. Besides, on the same date, another raiding team of RAB-10 conducted raids in Ahsan Ullah Road, Badamtali and Wajghat areas under Kotayali Police Station of the capital Dhaka and arrested 06 extortionists while illegally collecting extortion from various vehicles including trucks, lorries, covered vans and CNG. Name of arrested persons 1. Md Shubo (25), 2. Shaheen Hossain (25), 3. Md Emon (24), 4. Head of Zubayr (21), 5. Md. Dulal (48) and 6. Known as Nazrul Islam (21). During this time, 06 receipt books, 06 mobile phones and collected subscription cash – 6,310/- (six thousand three hundred ten) were recovered from them. The preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested persons had been illegally extorting extortion from the drivers and helpers of various vehicles including trucks, lorries, covered vans and CNG vehicles in Jatrabari, Demra, Kadmatoli and Kotyali areas of the capital for quite some time. A regular case has been registered against the arrested persons in the concerned police station.
