Since its inception, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has been playing a leading role in bringing all types of criminals under the law to maintain the overall law and order situation in the country. RAB has been conducting regular operations against militants, terrorists, organized criminals, armed criminals, robbers and narcotics. RAB has continued its anti-narcotics campaign to eradicate drugs with the slogan “Let’s go to war, against drugs”. In continuation of this, yesterday on 12th February 2023 AD, a raiding team of RAB-10 conducted an operation in Baramhanaria area under Keraniganj Model Police Station of Dhaka District on the basis of secret information and recovered approximately 18,41,100/- (Eighteen Lakhs Forty One Thousand One Hundred) 344 (Three Hundred Forty Four) worth of Tk. ) The village arrested 04 drug dealers with heroin. Name of arrested persons 1. Md. Swapan Mia (27), 2. Md. Raju Ahmed (35), 3. Md. Alif Hossain (32) and 4. He is said to be Md. Mosharraf (37). During this time, 14 mobile phones and drug sale cash- 32,380/- (Thirty Two Thousand Three Hundred Eighty) were recovered from them. Besides, on the same date, another raiding party of RAB-10 conducted another operation in Shubhadha area under Dakshin Keraniganj police station of Dhaka district and arrested 02 drug dealers with 72 bottles of Phencidil. Name of arrested persons 1. Md. Rana (36) and 2. It is known as Md. Sohail (37). Meanwhile, 02 mobile phones and drug sale cash- 18,700/- (eighteen thousand seven hundred) taka were recovered from them. Preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested persons are professional drug dealers. They have been collecting heroin and phencidil from different border areas of the country and supplying them to different areas of the country including Keraniganj. A separate drug case has been registered against the arrested persons in the concerned police station.
