Since its inception, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has been playing a leading role in bringing all types of criminals under the law to maintain the overall law and order situation of the country. RAB is regularly carrying out extensive operations against militants, terrorists, organized criminals, armed criminals, narcotics, robbers and robberies. In continuation of this, on January 19, 2022 AD, a raiding party of RAB-10 conducted an operation in Chunkutia Jhilmil Residential Project area under South Keraniganj police station of Dhaka district and arrested 02 people while preparing for robbery with indigenous weapons. Name of arrested persons 1. Md. Masum named as Chullu Masum (28) and 2. He is said to be Md Jahangir (38). Meanwhile, 02 daggers, 01 iron pipe, 01 hammer, 02 ropes, 150 pieces of yaba tablets and 750 pure heroin were seized from them. In the preliminary investigation, it is known that the arrested persons have been committing banditry in various areas including South Keraniganj and surrounding areas under the threat of indigenous weapons for quite some time. Besides, it is known that they used to stop the vehicles at various times in different areas of Dhaka-Mawa Expressway and rob/robber them with indigenous weapons and flee from there. A dacoity case and a drug case have been registered against the arrested persons in the concerned police station.
