Since its inception, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has been playing a leading role in bringing all types of criminals under the law to maintain the overall law and order situation in the country. RAB has been conducting regular operations against militants, terrorists, organized criminals, armed criminals, robbers and narcotics. RAB has continued its anti-narcotics campaign to eradicate drugs with the slogan “Let’s go to war, against drugs”. In continuation of this, on 20th February 2023 A.D. based on secret information, a raiding team of RAB-10 conducted an operation in Tikarpur Mor area under Nawabganj police station of Dhaka district and seized 10 (ten) kg of ganja worth approximately Tk 3,00,000/- (three lakhs) 02 John arrested the drug dealer. Name of arrested persons 1. Md Taufiq Mia (30) and 2. He is known as Muharram Ali (28). Meanwhile, 01 microbus, 02 mobile phones and cash- 230/- (two hundred and thirty) taka were recovered from them. Preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested persons are professional drug dealers. They had been collecting cannabis and other drugs from various border areas of the country for quite some time and supplying them to various areas of Dhaka city including Nawabganj. A drug case has been registered against the arrested persons in the concerned police station.
