Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated the newly-elected President of Bangladesh Mohammad Sahabuddin. In a congratulatory message recently sent to Mohammad Sahabuddin, Putin said, “Please accept my sincere congratulations on being elected as the President of Bangladesh.” The Russian Embassy in Dhaka said this. Putin said Bangladesh and Russia have traditionally maintained friendly relations. The Russian President also said, “I hope that your (Mohammed Shahabuddin) work during the presidential term will strengthen the constructive cooperation between Russia and Bangladesh in various fields.” He wished President-elect Shahabuddin success, good health and well-being.
