PTI trainee Rajiv returned home dead

PTI trainee teacher Rajib Chowdhury (34), the only son of Amal Chowdhury, a former Union Parishad member of Niamatpur village of Shalla Upazila, and Rina Talukder, a retired head teacher of a government primary school, returned home as a dead body.

Rajib’s last rites were performed at his home on Saturday evening. It is known that Rajib Chowdhury is an assistant teacher of Bholanagar Government Primary School in Upazila. Rajiv this year (was a trainee of BTPT Batch-3) in Sunamganj PTI as a DPD Trainee.

Rajib Chowdhury, a trainee of PTI, was seriously injured after being hit by a battery-operated auto rickshaw on the road in front of PTI at 8:30 pm on Wednesday night. At the same time, his classmates rescued Rajib and admitted him to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital for treatment. As the treatment did not improve, he was taken to a hospital in Dhaka on Friday morning for treatment. He died while being admitted to the ICU at 2 o’clock on Friday. When Rajib’s body reached Niamatpur in Shalla at 3 pm on Saturday, a heart-rending scene took place. The mourning atmosphere of the village was created by the lamentations of relatives including the bereaved mother Rina Talukdar. Sunamganj PTI mourned Rajib’s death. Colleagues burst into tears.

Trainee of Sunamganj PTI Rinkon Chandra Das said that when Rajib’s body reached home, a heart-rending atmosphere was created. Rina Talukder could not bear the grief of losing her only son. Father Amal Chowdhury had the same situation. A situation of mourning is created among the people of the entire village due to the cries of the relatives. Rajiv’s last rites were completed in the evening, Rincon said.

Superintendent of Sunamganj PTI Dipankar Mohant said that there are 250 children students in Sunamganj PTI campus. There are 113 teacher trainees and other staff. We have been demanding again and again. To provide dividers on front road. Those concerned are not taking into consideration. Moreover, there are no municipal street lights on the road in front of PTI. Even the autos plying on city roads do not have lights. In this situation, Rajib Chowdhury, a trainee, was seriously injured when he was hit by an auto while crossing the road on Wednesday. He was first kept in Sunamganj, then Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital for two days and sent to a private hospital in Dhaka. Rajiv died there at two last night. The trainees are angry over this incident. They said, if there are no lights on the road divider, such incidents will happen more.
