AKM Abu Taher Foundation in Comilla District Barura, Two thousand people have been given free eye treatment in a joint initiative of Bashundhara Eye Hospital and Research Institute and Vision Care Foundation. Necessary medicines have also been distributed free of cost to the beneficiaries. Apart from this, free spectacles will be provided to those suffering from cataract and macular degeneration, and free surgery will be provided.
On Friday (July 14) this service was provided through orderly arrangements at the Haripur Aganagar High School grounds of Barura upazila. 2000 people have smiles on their faces after receiving these services for free. Most of them are poverty and low income people.
On Friday from 8 am to 4 pm on the ground, it was seen that the people of North Barura three unions Aganagar, Khosbas North and South Union took this service in Haripur Aganagar High School ground adjacent to Bara Haripur Bazar of Barura Upazila South Khosbas Union. In the morning, a team of 10 experts from Bashundhara Eye Hospital and Research Institute came here to provide services. Bashundhara Eye Hospital and Research Institute’s founding director Professor Dr. Md. Medical services are provided under the guidance of Saleh Ahmed.
