Sonaimuri Upazila Swachhasevak League has held a press conference against the false propaganda spread on social media by super-editing the picture of Nur Uddin Shamim, joint convenor of Sonaimuri Upazila Swachhasevak League, with the baseless purpose of political revenge, defamation of character. On Saturday 5th August’23 at 11 o’clock at Sonaimuri ‘Chaduibati’ party center under the banner of Sonaimuri Upazila Volunteer League in the presence of Upazila Volunteer League Convener Dildar Hossain Noble, Joint Convener Nizam Uddin, Municipal Volunteer League President Monir Ahmed and General Secretary Salauddin Milan. A press conference was held. In the press conference, Nur Uddin Shamim said, since my school life, I have been involved in politics as the editor of Sonaimuri College Chhatra League, Upzilla Chhatra League. I was a joint convener and member of the District Chhatra League. Social and I have extensive knowledge in the political arena. In view of the upcoming 12th national elections, a group of people have opened fake IDs and carried out false propaganda under various pseudonyms and anonymously in a conspiracy to humiliate the active leaders of the Awami League, Swachha Sevak League, Youth League, Chhatra League and affiliated organizations through social media. Some fake political people who have come to Awami politics from different parties are jealous of me for a long time. Conspiracies and propaganda against me with the nefarious purpose of politically defamation. As part of the conspiracy, a central leader of the Volunteers League has defamed me by super-editing my photo with a personal photo and spreading it on social media including several Facebook IDs, YouTube pages. I strongly condemn and protest against it. He also said, there is enough proof of super editing of my picture. In this regard, I have filed a case against the concerned Facebook ID, YouTube ID and the concerned parties under section 24/25/26/29/31/35 of the ICT Act 2018 in the Cyber Tribunal Court, Chittagong Petition No. 455/2023 AD, the learned Cyber Tribunal Court. At the end of the hearing my complaint was taken into account.
