UP members raided Putkhali village bordering Benapole Police have arrested 23 leaders and activists of the Jamaat-Shibir. Benapole Port Police Station Putkhali around 11:30 pm on Saturday They were arrested in a raid in Barpota village of the union. Among those arrested is a UP member of Putkhali Union Parishad. Kamal Hossain Bhuiyan, OC of Benapole Port Police Station, said that on the basis of secret information, we got to know that Jamaat-Shibir leaders and activists are holding a secret meeting in Baropota village of Putkhali Union under Benapole Port Police Station on Saturday night.
On receiving such information, police raided there under the leadership of Navaran Circle Assistant Superintendent of Police Nishat Al Nahian. Sensing the presence of the police, they attacked the police with sticks and bricks. The police raided and arrested 23 leaders and activists. 5 cocktails were recovered from the spot. A case has been registered in Benapole Port Police Station in this regard. Around noon, the arrested were sent to Jessore court.
