There was no significant injury to the Hindu community in Pirojpur. Leaders of BNP, Jamaat, Islamic governance movement along with the local people have guarded their temples and houses. Several leaders of the Hindu community including Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Unity Council, Puja Udjakar Parishad said this in a special meeting on law and order in Pirojpur district on Tuesday. Speakers in the meeting presided over by Deputy Commissioner Md Zahedur Rahman said that after the change of pot on August 5, the policemen observed work break, but the political leaders and people were trying to maintain the law and order situation of the district.
The commanding officer of the army in charge of Pirojpur, Lt. Col. Ariful Islam, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Zahedur Rahman and Superintendent of Police Muhammad Shariful Islam requested the assistance of the administration to maintain the law and order situation of Pirojpur including the political leaders and civil society present in the meeting.
