Shahin Fakir: A drug dealer named Shahin Hawlader (36) has been arrested along with the intoxicating drug Yaba in a special raid by Pirojpur District Detective Branch (DB) Police. On Monday (June 2) at 8.30 pm, based on a secret tip-off, a raid was conducted on the paved road in front of Tahfizul Quran Madrasa in Horer Hawla, Ward No. 6 of Pirojpur Municipality and he was arrested red-handed along with 2374 pieces of Yaba. According to the District DB Police, based on a tip-off, under the overall direction of Pirojpur District Police Superintendent Khan Muhammad Abu Naser, SI (Unarmed) Rabin Rahman and his accompanying force working in the District Intelligence Branch arrested drug dealer Shahin Howlader red-handed along with 2374 pieces of Yaba from a place called Horer Howlader in Pirojpur Municipality. The arrested drug dealer is the son of Afzal Hossain Howlader of Nadmula Sialkathi Union in Bhandaria Upazila of the district. The police have been looking for him for a long time to arrest him. He was able to arrest him red-handed along with Yaba on Monday night. The police said that the illegal market value of the recovered drug Yaba is estimated at Tk 9,49,600 at a rate of Tk 400 per piece. On Tuesday (June 3), at 12 noon, Pirojpur District Police Superintendent Khan Muhammad Abu Naser gave detailed information through a press briefing. In this regard, Pirojpur District Police Superintendent Khan Muhammad Abu Naser said that a drug dealer named Shahin Howlader was arrested red-handed with a large quantity of Yaba under the Narcotics Control Act and sent to Pirojpur Jail. Such operations by Pirojpur District Police will continue in the coming days as well.
