Prime Care Ltd. sales representative Mohammad Shahjahan Bhuiyan (40), a motorcycle rider, died after being hit by a truck in front of the Hero showroom adjacent to Chakaria Government College. The accident occurred around 10:30 am on Saturday (May 24).
The deceased Shahjahan is a resident of Daudkandi upazila of Comilla district and the son-in-law of Mufiz Master’s daughter of Ward No. 6 of Chakaria municipal area. Eyewitnesses said that on Saturday morning, while going to the Hero Honda showroom adjacent to Chakaria Government College on the Cox’s Bazar-Chittagong highway, a freight truck of the Cox’s Bazar-bound Akij Group ran over the motorcycle while crossing the road. At that time, Shahjahan Bhuiyan, who was seriously injured, died on the way to the Chakaria Government Hospital. He had been working as a sales representative at Prime Care Veterinary Company in Chakaria upazila for about 14 years.
Chiringa Highway Police OC Arif said that a motorcyclist died after being hit by a covered van in the area near Chakaria Government College. The body has been recovered and handed over to his relatives. He said that the two vehicles have been seized.
