If you can realize the dreams of the youth, you can make the dreams of the nation come true, said the chief advisor of the interim government. Muhammad Yunus.

The leaders of International Chamber of Commerce Bangladesh (ICC-B) met with the Chief Advisor at Rashtriya Guest House Yamuna on Tuesday (August 20). He said this at the time.

The business delegation led by ICC-B President Mahbubur Rahman congratulated the interim government and the Chief Adviser, noting that the country’s businessmen fully support him in his new role.

The Chief Adviser then thanked them and said that his administration had inherited an economic disaster. But he is confident that the situation will improve quickly with the necessary reforms.

“It’s a very difficult situation we’re in now,” he said. But it’s also the biggest opportunity we can get. Our work is difficult, but much more possible.

Dr. Yunus said, if Bangladesh can overcome the crisis collectively as a nation, then we will attract the attention of the world. The world will look to us for inspiration and want to do more business with us.

ICC-B leaders urged the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize laureate to take the necessary reforms without rushing to restore stability to the economy. They said that the previous government has left the country on the brink of destruction. Deep reforms and restructuring are now required in the banking sector, revenue administration, education and industry.

Mahbubur Rahman said, we are the witness of what happened in the last 15 years. The private sector of Bangladesh is hundred percent with you.

Meanwhile, Dr. Yunus asked the delegation to think outside the box to achieve greatness as a nation. He said, if we can realize the dreams of the youth, then we can make the dreams of the nation come true.

Senior business leaders including FBCCI President Mahbubul Alam, Tapan Chowdhury, Qutubuddin Ahmed, AK Azad, Simin Rahman, Khandkar Rafiqul Islam, Nasser Ejaz Vijay, Fazlul Haque and Mohammad Hatim were present in the meeting.
