As Bangladesh Bank Governor Abdur Rauf Talukder resigned, Deputy Governor Nurun Nahar will take over as Governor.
This instruction has been given in an order signed by Afsana Bilkis, Deputy Secretary of Financial Institutions Department of the Ministry of Finance on Sunday (August 11).
Earlier on Friday (August 9) afternoon, the Secretary of the Financial Institutions Department said that due to personal reasons. Abdur Rauf Talukdar sent his resignation letter to Abdur Rahman Khan. Then a day goes by without the governor. In this situation, Deputy Governor Nurun Nahar will serve as the governor.
According to the instructions of the Ministry of Finance, due to the resignation of Bangladesh Bank Governor Abdur Rauf Talukder, the Deputy Governors will be able to perform their daily activities in their respective fields from August 11 until the new governor joins. Deputy Governor Nurun Nahar will look after the Governor’s daily mail and forward it to the concerned department.
