Miscreants killed a mother and daughter by slitting their throats at their home at Prabhati School Sanglan Burlington intersection of Noakhali municipality at 10:30 am. Police have arrested 1 suspect in the incident and a blood-stained dagger used in the murder has been recovered. The deceased are Fazle Azim Kochi’s wife Nurnahar (45) and daughter Fateha Azim Priyanti (16). Priyanti gave SSC examination from local Harinarayanpur High School. Fazle Azim Kochi works in a local private hospital. The arrested person’s name is Altaf Hossain (36). His house is in Alexander area of Ramgati upazila of neighboring Lakshmipur district. Mizanur Rahman Pathan, officer-in-charge of Sudharam Model Police Station (Investigation) confirmed the truth of the incident and said that the police recovered two bodies from the spot and sent them to Noakhali General Hospital morgue for post-mortem. No case has been filed so far. The reason for the murder is not yet known. The detained person will be interrogated.
