The country’s first elevated expressway (Ural Sadak) is being launched in September. Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said that motorcycles and three-wheelers will not be allowed on this flyover road.
He said this while talking to reporters after inspecting the construction work of Dhaka Elevated Expressway in Kawla area adjacent to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Saturday (July 8).
The bridge minister said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the country’s first elevated expressway in September. Movement of motorcycles and three wheelers will be stopped on this road. Vehicular movement will be kept uninterrupted on this road.
According to the information of the bridge department, the length of the elevated expressway from Shahjalal International Airport to Kutubkhali on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway via Kuril, Mohakhali, Tejgaon will be 19.73 km. Of this, 12 km from Airport to Farmgate will be inaugurated in September.
