The new Inspector General is Bangladesh Sports Education Institution (BKSP) Director General Brigadier General Syed Mohammad Motaher Hossain. He is a Brigadier General. S. M will replace Anisul Haque.
This information was given in a notification signed by the Military Secretary Major General Mir Mushfiqur Rahman.
According to the notification, Brigadier General Syed Mohammad Motaher Hossain will rejoin the post as Inspector General of Prisons after returning to the army.
On the other hand, the current Inspector General of Prisons Brigadier General A. S. M Anisul Haque has been attached to the M&Q Directorate of Army headquarters.
Brigadier General Syed Mohammad Motaher Hossain took charge as the 21st Director General of Bangladesh Sports Educational Institution, BKSP in 2023. He was commissioned in Infantry Corps in Bangladesh Army in 31st BMA Long Course on 19 December 1994.
As an astute officer of the Bangladesh Army, he held various command, staff and instructional appointments with exceptional professionalism and skill. He served with success in Bangladesh Military Academy (BMA), Bangladesh Institute of Peace Support Operations Training (BIPSOT) and Special Security Force (SSF).
Brigadier General Motaher also led the Bangladesh Battalion in UNMISS as the Contingent Commander in peacekeeping operations. He also served as United Nations Military Observer at UNAMSIL and Force Headquarters Operational Staff at UNMIL.
Brigadier General Motaher completed various important trainings and courses in various reputed institutions in the country and abroad at various stages of his professional life. These four hundred army officers obtained PSC from Defense Service Command and Staff College, Mirpur and NDC from National Defense College, Dhaka.
This talented military officer holds B.Sc in first class from Bangladesh Military Academy under National University, MBA from MIST under Dhaka University and Masters in Military Science (MMSc) and Masters in Social Science (MSS) from Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) in 2009 and 2023 respectively. Received a degree.
Brigadier General Motaher also has outstanding skills in publishing and has several notable publications in various military journals including Mirpur Paper. He is a sports enthusiast and accomplished golfer.
