18th BCS (Information-General) cadre officer Abul Kalam Mohammad Shamsuddin has been appointed as Director General (DG) of Bangladesh Film and Publication Rights (DFP).
On Tuesday (September 3), the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has reshuffled and issued a notification in this regard.
Abul Kalam Mohammad Shamsuddin, who has been appointed as Director General, has previously served as Director General of PIB, Director of Film and Publication Directorate, Director of Bangladesh Film Archive, Deputy Director (Technical) of Directorate of Mass Communication.
Besides, he served as the Editor of the Publications Sachitra Bangladesh of the Directorate of Films and Publications, Senior Information Officer in Dinajpur, Chittagong, Tangail, Jamalpur and Patuakhali.
In his career, he started his career as a script writer in the Directorate of Films and Publications in January 1999. He is experienced in film production, publishing and newspaper law. Two of his major books have been published on Media Support Law, Policy and Rules and Law of Everyday Life.
Bangladesh Editors Forum Chairman Md. Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury, Secretary General Omar Farooq Jalal, Finance Editor and Editor of Daily Mukti Bukhay newspaper Kamruzzaman Jani congratulated Abul Kalam Mohammad Shamsuddin DMP on his appointment as Director General.
