Fazila Khatun Nescha (55), who was missing, returned to her native land after a long time of 23 years. On Friday afternoon, the Assistant High Commission of Bangladesh in India’s Tripura sent him home through Akhaura check post from Agartala. Earlier, he went missing from his home in Jhenaidah district in 2000. Fazila Khatun is the daughter of Khaybar Ali of Biyakhali village of Jhenaidah Sadar Upazila. After a long wait, daughter Pinjira Akhtar hugged her mother back and burst into tears. Fazila Khatun, who is sick, stares blankly at her daughter. How he got to India is also not known. Fazila Khatun’s nephew Md Shahjalal said at the zero line of the border, in August 2022, I came to know through the upazila administration that my brother-in-law is in a mental hospital in Agarta, India. After contacting the government, with the help of Tripura High Commissioner Arif Mohammad, I was able to bring my cousin to the country today. After getting her mother back, Pinjira Akhter says, I was 12 years old when my mother disappeared. I heard that mother is missing. I did not find my mother even after searching a lot. Mother had been dead to us for so long. I am very happy to be back alive today. Arif Mohammad, assistant high commissioner of Bangladesh in Tripura, said that after 23 years, we have reached a missing mother to her child. He was mentally ill. He disappeared from his home. He was found in Tripura sometime during Parvatirta. He was later treated at the Modern Psychiatric Hospital in Tripura. Tripura police told me about him. I inform the Government of India after verifying his citizenship by sending his information to the Government of Bangladesh.
