A memorial service was held in Brahmanbaria on Saturday after the death of Zafrullah Chowdhury. The commemoration meeting was held at the press club under the initiative of Bhasani Charcha Kendra. Speakers at the memorial meeting said, ‘Zafrullah Chowdhury was a symbol of patriotism and honesty. Whatever work he has done is for the people of the country. He did not do politics. But his speech stirred politics. He was not afraid of any bloodshot.’ The speaker also said, ‘Zafrullah Chowdhury has taken a place in people’s hearts. He will live as long as this world lives. We should be motivated by following Zafrullah Chowdhury’s patriotism.’ Journalist Abdun Noor presided and Advocate Nasir Mia moderated the welcome speech by Shamima Sikder. The chief guest was Zafrullah’s wife Shirin Haque, a female leader. Special guest was Dr. Mustafa Majid, Professor Rahman Chowdhury. Among others, General Secretary of District Lawyers Association Shamchuzzaman Chowdhury Kanan, General Secretary of Press Club Md. Baharul Islam Molla, Taimur Reza Shahzad, freedom fighter Ratan Kanti Dutta, Sathi Chowdhury, Fazilatunnahar, Ferdousur Rahman etc. Zafrullah Chowdhury’s wife Shirin Haque said in the speech of the chief guest, “Zafrullah has received a lot of love from the common people.” He saw this as the greatest achievement in life. He always worked for common people.’
