A man named Badsha Mia (55) committed suicide by jumping under a train in Lohagara, Chittagong. The incident took place on the Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar railway line in Rupban Para area of ​​Adhunagar Union of the upazila at around 1:30 pm on Monday (May 19). The deceased Badsha Mia is a resident of Majidar Para village of Lohagara Sadar Union and the son of the deceased Raziullah. Lohagara Station Master Md. Lokman confirmed the matter. Locals who went to Sarezmin said that Badsha Mia, who had returned from abroad, left his house on Monday morning due to a family dispute. He was seen walking on the railway line behind the police station since morning. Later, when the “Tourist Express” train from Dhaka to Cox’s Bazar arrived, he jumped in front of the railway line. He died on the spot after being run over by the train’s wheels. Various parts of the body were seen lying in dismembered condition about a kilometer away from the accident site. The deceased’s son Jisan said, “My father left the house around 9 am with the land documents. A year ago, he had also attempted suicide by consuming poison. Later, after receiving news that he had died after being cut on the railway track, we went and identified his father’s body.” Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Lohagara Police Station, Md. Arifur Rahman, said, “We have received news that a person died after being cut on the railway track. The matter has been reported to the Railway Police. They will come and take necessary action.”
