A complaint letter signed by Mujibur Rahman was submitted on behalf of the local residents. It was mentioned to the Chittagong Police Commissioner, and also sent to the Home Ministry, Police Chief, BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, and NCP. The complaint letter mentions that Harunur Rashid, former joint general secretary of the banned Awami League ward 39 of Chittagong Port Police Station, had held secret meetings with Awami League leaders and activists several times. The letter states that Harunur Rashid worked as an assistant to former mayor Mirnasir Uddin of the banned Awami League government. It is also mentioned that before August 5, Harunur Rashid and his team attacked students with weapons during the July movement. And the banned fascist Awami League government has acquired many assets in various ways. The letter also states that after August 5, the police arrested him with a general case. After getting out on bail, he got involved in various misdeeds of the Awami League again. And he tried to unite the leaders and activists by holding secret meetings and processions in the area. However, after investigation, it was learned that after August 5, seeing the rapidity of the incident, he fled to India. He came to Chittagong for a few days and remained in hiding for a long time. Later, he was arrested in a case. After a few days, he got bail for unknown reasons. When the charge sheet came to us, we asked a person from ward number 39 about Harunur Rashid Dhara, who was banned on condition of anonymity, and we were subjected to many atrocities during the Awami League period. Although a case was filed against him after August 5, he is trying to unite his party after being released.
