Supreme Court lawyer Syed Mamun Mahabub has asked for the resignation of 50 judges of the Supreme Court Appellate and High Court Division, including Chief Justice Obaidul Hasan.
He made this claim at a press conference at the South Hall of the Supreme Court Bar Association on Thursday (August 8). Other lawyers were present at that time.
Sheikh Hasina resigned from the post of Prime Minister on Monday (August 5) and left the country. Since then, officials who were appointed to major positions during his government are being removed from their duties. Many are resigning voluntarily.
Following this, the state’s chief law officer, Attorney General AM Amin Uddin, resigned on Wednesday (August 7). Another Additional Attorney General Sheikh Mohammad (SK) Morsed also resigned.
Meanwhile, another Additional Attorney General SM Munir resigned on Thursday. He submitted his resignation to the Attorney General’s Office.
