A lawyer named Sohrab Hossain Sohag died due to electrocution near Medinova Diagnostic Center near Saladin Junction in Comilla city.
The incident took place on Monday (August 19) around 4:30 pm at Salauddin intersection in the city. The deceased Sohag is the son of Nawab Mia Sardar of Sangkuchail village of Comilla Burichong Upazila.
Sohag’s niece Ikram Hossain said that his uncle came to Comilla from home in the afternoon to see his wife to the doctor. After seeing a doctor at a hospital in the Jhowtala area of ​​the city, he went to a diagnostic center in Saladin Mor area for examination. There he left his wife inside the diagnosis center and came out. At that time, due to waterlogging on the road, while walking by the side, he got tangled in the torn electricity wire. Locals rescued him and took him to Comilla Medical College Hospital. He went to the Medical College Hospital after getting the news on mobile phone and found Sohag’s dead body. He left for home with the body.
Director of Comilla Medical College Hospital Sheikh Fazle Rabbi said that he died before coming to the hospital. The family members took the body home without an autopsy.
Comilla Lawyers Association General Secretary Advocate Jahangir Hossain Bhuia said Sohag became a member of Comilla Lawyers Association in May this year. He was very polite and courteous. Comilla District Lawyers Association is saddened by his untimely death. He expressed his condolences to the bereaved family.
