In Hatibandha Upazila of Lalmonirhat, a young man named Dulu (18) committed suicide by drinking poison after going to his lover’s house to demand marriage.
The incident took place on Saturday morning (December 9) in the Hajir Mor area of ​​North Dhubani village of Singimari union of the upazila.
Locals and residents said that Abdul Aziz’s son Dulu (18) of that area had a love affair with a neighboring girl. At one stage of the relationship, when both of them wanted to get married, objections arose from both families. At one point, last Friday midnight, the lover Dulu went to the girl’s house to demand marriage. But at that time Dulu fell ill after drinking poison and trying to commit suicide without finding his daughter at home.
Later he was quickly taken to Hatibandha Upazila Hospital. When his condition worsened, he was taken to Rangpur Medical College Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.
In this regard, Hatibandha police station OC Shah Alam confirmed the truth of the incident.
